Long time no see, Dressing Dykes blog! I’m checking in today with something slightly different: lesbian fashion history in the making.
Saturday 5th September 2026 was the first ever Brighton Dyke Pride and I wanted to capture some of the outfits as a kind of lesbian fashion archive for the future. Thank you to everyone who let me take their picture! Although these photos show a fantastic array of outfits, they don’t reflect the full diversity of people and styles that were at the event, because it was huge — a really amazing example of lesbians and allies coming together to celebrate dyke pride.
If you’d like to keep up with my work, give me a follow on the Dressing Dykes Instagram (for lesbian fashion history) or my personal Instagram (for more updates, plus posts about my PhD on lesbian textile craft!).
Now onto the fashion…

You can find these photos and the tagged accounts of some of the people pictured on Instagram.
